Epoxy paint typically requires a clean and slightly porous surface to adhere properly. Epoxy could not bond to sealed or polished the concrete. The concrete itself must be fully cured. Before applying the epoxy coating, it is crucial to patch and repair all major chips and cracks in the surface of concrete and remove all the grease.
Before applying the epoxy paint, ensure that the temperature was in optimal condition, and follow all the recommendations from the manufacturer. An unfavourable temperature could cause the epoxy coating to peel and bubble. Epoxy paint is a two-part liquid that you mix before application. Once the product is mixed, you have to apply the epoxy coating instantly before it starts to harden.
Moreover, the ease of application and thickness of the epoxy paint also depends on the volume of solids content. If the percentage of solids epoxy is 100%, that means you have 100% of the product on the floor after it cures. On the other way around, 50% solids mean you will have 50% of the product remaining on the floor after it has cured. The reasons for this are that the carrier agent like solvents or water, which are commonly used in the lower solid product, will evaporate out as the epoxy cures.
